The company
Talentometry is partnering with a global manufacturer of advanced sheet metal machinery: punching and shearing machines, panel benders, press brakes, fibre lasers and fully automated, Industry 4.0 production systems. They're growing their UK service team and need a Field Service Engineer to cover customers across the North of England.
The role
You'll install, service and repair high-end sheet metal machinery at customer sites across the region. Most weeks you'll visit several customers. On larger installations you may be on one site for two to three weeks.

two office-based specialists can dial into machines remotely
the factory engineering teams are on hand for the tricky stuff
What you'll be doing
Installing, servicing and repairing lasers, press brakes, punches and panel benders
Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and control faults, using laptop-based diagnostic tools where needed
Supporting customers on site and acting as the face of the business
Working with the office support team and factory engineers to resolve technical issues
What they're looking for
Experience servicing or repairing sheet metal machinery (lasers, press brakes, punches or panel benders) is ideal
Machine building or OEM experience will also be considered, even if you haven't worked in field service before
Solid mechanical skills, plus a growing electrical background; PLC, control panel or electrical fault finding is a real plus
Comfortable with regular regional travel and occasional nights away
A genuine appetite to learn new machinery
What's on offer
£33,000 – £45,000 basic, depending on experience
Overtime, including paid travel time outside core hours
Company car and company credit card
Factory training at the manufacturing sites in Austria and Italy
Structured onboarding, shadowing experienced engineers before working independently
An employer that tries to keep engineers regional and works with you around family commitments
