Joining the Responsive Outside Works Team you will be responsible for commissioning, installing and servicing industrial automation and industrial control systems.
PLC/SCADA/Motor Control/Drives.
Fairfield Controls Projects include Wimbledon Centre Court Retractable Roof, Redcliffe Bascule Bridge (Bristol), London Eye, The Falkirk Wheel and Tower Bridge.
Minimum of 4 years experience working in a control system engineering role ideally at an integrator.
This is a site based role working across the South West of England.
There may be some working away.
Be prepared to join an on call rota for out of hours breakdown service.
Talentometry have partnered with Fairfield Controls to recruit a Commissioning Engineer for each of their office locations (South Yorkshire, Gloucestershire, and Scottish Central Belt. The role has come about as a result of business expansion and also due to current commissioning engineers moving into leadership roles managing frameworks for preventative and reactive breakdowns. It may not surprise you to learn that the Director Group all joined either as apprentices or graduates at Fairfield Controls making business decisions that propel the organization forward in terms of capability to deliver one of the most interesting portfolio of complex Control & Automation projects on offer from any single control system integrator. The bulk of the work is outdoor projects, though Fairfield Controls does have a number of clients within other markets (Defence, Factory Automation, and some within Heavy Industry).
Testing and Commissioning of Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS) to satisfy the functional design specification or customer’s requirements specification.
Preparing and Performing Factory and Site Acceptance Testing
Supervision of sub-contractors and management of their contracts and activities.
Provision of service and callout support for maintenance contracts (on a rota basis).
Contribute to all aspects of project health and safety life-cycle
Supervision and coaching of junior staff, including technicians, graduates and apprentices
This role pays door to door. Engineers earn on average £60k each year in total from base salary, over time, and allowances.
An additional payment for being on call.
