This is a site based role working across multiple different sites.
There may be some working away.
Be prepared to join an on call rota for out of hours breakdown service for automated Flood Defence Systems.
Talentometry have partnered with Fairfield Controls to recruit a a number of Automation Technicians located within- South Yorkshire, -Gloucestershire, - near Guildford. The role has come about as a result of business expansion to increase capability to service the Environmental Agency framework for automated flood defence systems assets (for example pumping stations, sluice gates and level monitoring outstations) We are looking for someone who doesn't mind travel and working across different sites. There will be opportunities for progression but not for 2-3 years from this role. In the meantime, you will be able to join various training programmes to enhance your PLC programming skills. It may not surprise you to learn that the Director Group all joined either as apprentices or graduates at Fairfield Controls making business decisions that propel the organization forward in terms of capability to deliver one of the most interesting portfolio of complex Control & Automation projects on offer from any single control system integrator. The bulk of the work is outdoor projects, though Fairfield Controls does have a number of clients within other markets (Defence, Factory Automation, and some within Heavy Industry).
Planned preventive maintenance (PPM) of assets and reactive maintenance.
PLC Fault finding and backing up PLCs
Involvement in minor projects: PLC & HMI upgrades
Provision of service and callout support for maintenance contracts (on a rota basis).
Calibration of instruments
Basic electrical duties (e.g. taking voltage readings)
Salary is up to £35k. This role pays door to door allowing you to earn substantial overtime.
An additional payment for being on call.
