The Company Our client is a major international player in the sustainable packaging industry, operating an extensive network across Europe. They are a business built on the circular economy, transforming recycled materials into high-quality protective packaging solutions for some of the world’s biggest brands.

Despite their global reach, the local site maintains a close-knit “family business” culture where safety, operational excellence, and employee development are at the forefront. Due to continued growth and investment in their manufacturing capabilities, they are now looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their established team.

The Role Joining a structured environment with a clear onboarding plan, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of high-speed production machinery. This is a multi-skilled role where you will balance reactive breakdown support with a proactive approach to planned preventative maintenance (PPM).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Safety First: Operating strictly within LOTOTO procedures and risk assessments to ensure a safe environment for yourself and the production team.
  • Technical Support: Conducting electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs on complex manufacturing equipment.
  • Operational Efficiency: Working closely with operators and team leaders to minimise downtime and improve machine reliability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for machine upgrades and reliability enhancements to support the site’s “Value Engineering” goals.
  • Resource Management: Sourcing replacement parts and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.

The Candidate We are looking for a proactive, “can-do” engineer who enjoys problem-solving in a fast-paced production environment. You should be comfortable working as part of a team and have the communication skills to liaise effectively with different departments.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Apprentice Trained: You must be a time-served Maintenance Engineer (Level 3 or equivalent) with a mechanical bias.
  • Multi-Skilled: Competent in both mechanical and electrical fault-finding.
  • Technical Knowledge: Good working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Advantageous: Previous experience with PLCs and drives is highly desirable.
  • Background: Solid experience within a manufacturing or high-volume production environment is essential.
