Talentometry Briefing: Temporary COVID-19 Adjusted Right to Work Checks ends in May

We have had many starters who have joined businesses without meeting a single person over the last year. Rightly so, on 30th March the Government enabled employers to carry out right to work checks over video calls to support these employment processes moving online for businesses who were still in a position to make hires.

Many of these successful candidates have already made a fantastic impact on the businesses they have joined and we wait to partner more exceptional individuals within technology and engineering with extraordinary organizations who can help transform careers.

As the lockdown ends and physical interviews start to see a return, so do proper checks when it comes to the eligibility of a prospective employee to work in the UK. The Home Office have announced that from 17th May, employers must resume checking an applications original right to work documents.  More info on navigating these checks can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-right-to-work-checks

Talentometry pre-screen candidates for their right to work in the UK status to ensure you only interview candidates who can legally work for your business. Whilst this doesn’t replace your legal requirement to conduct these checks, it does save you time and energy in the upfront checks that could be better spent putting forward a strong case to exceptional candidates aligned to your needs.
